FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: GENTLENESS
Main Point: Gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit
Summary: Trying to trap Jesus, religious leaders bring him a woman who was caught in sin. The law says she should be stoned to death. Jesus handles the situation with gentleness, not condoning the sin but sending her accusers away and treating her gently.
Activity Supplies:  Large bowl of water, styrofoam plates, solo cups & playing cards.
Family Dinner Discussion: Talk about a book or movie character who is gentle. What makes that character gentle?

Continue the lesson throughout the week: Practice being gentle with this fun family activity.

  • Grab a deck of cards or some graham crackers and frosting, and build a house! Be gentle so your house of cards or your graham cracker house doesn’t topple.
  • As you build together, talk about why it takes gentleness to accomplish this task.
  • Talk about what it means to be gentle in everyday life.
  • Share ways you can be gentle with each other this week.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. –  Galatians 5:22-23
