FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: FAITHFULNESS
Main Point: Faithfulness is a fruit of the Spirit
Summary: David and Jonathan are best friends, even though Jonathan is in line for the throne and God has promised the throne to David. Jonathan’s father, Saul, hates David and wants to kill him. Jonathan is a faithful friend as he risks his life to find out whether David is in danger, then sends David safely away from Saul.

Family Dinner Discussion: What has happened in your life that shows God’s faithfulness?

Continue the lesson throughout the week: Have family members each choose the pair of shoes they wear most often.

  • Stick a piece of duct tape to the bottom of each shoe.
  • Whenever you wear those shoes, you can look at the soles of the shoes and be reminded that God sticks with you.
  • Whenever you see the tape, thank God for his faithfulness and ask him to help you be faithful, too.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, FAITHFULNESS,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. –  Galatians 5:22-23
