Daniel Mark Mueller

I am the vine; you are the branches. If a person remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Daniel’s Confirmation verse

Daniel Mark Mueller was born on Friday, September 17, 1971 in Effingham, IL to Earl T. and Doris (Stuemke) Mueller. He was a 4th grade teacher at Tillman School, Kirkwood, MO. Dan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was active as a deacon and a member of the bell choir. He was a proud Eastern Illinois University Alumni which is where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He had a passion for teaching and always had a fun story to share about what happened in the classroom. Dan loved travelling, especially to New York City. There wasn’t a show tune he didn’t know or a cat that he couldn’t befriend. The Golden Girls and Peanuts were among his favorite things, along with Longaberger baskets. Dan was the true definition of a great friend and will be dearly missed. Remember, kindness costs nothing, but means everything.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Mueller of Effingham; brother, Tim (Lisa) Mueller of Neoga; nieces, Allison (Broc) Pemberton and Rebecca Mueller; great nephews, Roscoe and Reed Pemberton and great niece, Rory Pemberton and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his; father, Earl T. Mueller and grandparents, Elmer and Alma Mueller and Paul and Helen Stuemke.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 4th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 812 Soulard St., St. Louis with Rev. Dr. Joshua Hatcher and Rev. Steve Albers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the church. A funeral service will then be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 5th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham, with Rev. Mike Burdick officiating with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Altamont.
