Why They Make Umbrellas

Underneath our curiosity about the lives and spiritual well-being of others sits the treacherous road of self-reflection.  It’s much more settling to wander in the curious space of hypotheticals: what God thinks about my neighbor, how proper the path of another compared to my own.  This weekend, we’ll hear again the gentle reminder that we can’t control other people any more than we can control the weather.  We’ll turn inward, and discover how to live in peaceful unity… as far as it depends on us… (Romans 12:20)
