June 30 – The Ruins of Shattered Walls

By July 1, 2019 August 5th, 2019 No Comments

When you see a gate somewhere along a fence-line, it’s a signal of welcome vulnerability. A fluidity. People can pass through from one side to the other. Walls don’t work that way.  Walls are permanent.  They insist on a non-negotiable divide between people based on whatever prejudice can masquerade as piety.  Overflowing from the mystical core of the Gospel of Jesus – that God has broken down the dividing wall between himself and humanity – is the shattered ruin of every wall that stands between God’s people and one another.  (Ephesians 2:14-15)
