In the Upside Down

Think of it as a radical re-centering of our social and cultural mercator projection map. Somewhere along the way, after a lifetime of exposure to globes with a base attached to the south pole, it becomes hard to tell which way is rightside-up and which way is upside-down.  This World AIDS Day message centers on the table-flipping hymn of Mary in Luke 1, on the Christ who fills the hungry with goodness and casts the empires from their thrones; who turns the world upside-down.  Or… depending on how you look at it, right-side up. (Luke 1:46-56)
