There’s something satisfying about watching a string of dominos fall over on each other. It gives us a sense that the world might be predictable, that the effects we navigate might have a cause behind them. If we can understand then we can predict, and if we predict we can avoid, and if we can’t avoid, we can at least know what to blame. This weekend, we’ll encounter the God who doesn’t show his anger by punishing us, the one who shows his love by suffering with us. (Luke 13:1-4)
